Course Information

The online CPR & BLS course covers essential skills in life support, giving you the knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergency situations. The course structure includes theoretical training, practical training and an assessment. 

The Resuscitation lead for the course is Dr Raj, a Consultant of emergency medicine in Winchester and Basingstoke and the Director of the Resuscitation Council. In line with national guidelines, the course will prepare you in the case of an emergency event, covering the following topics:

Introduction into Basic Life Support

Core to the course, basic life support training will provide you with the right skills and knowledge to prevent risks as well as how to respond to emergency situations. Awareness into individual roles when faced with an emergency situation will also be covered

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Understanding and identifying situations that demand CPR, as well as the necessary skills to resuscitate a patient. Chest compressions, rescue breaths, hands-only CPR, etc.

Recovery Position

The correct way to place someone in the recovery position,  when you’d need to carry out such a manouver and why.

Emergency Conditions & Drugs

This topic will cover the appropriate guidelines for administering emergency drugs and use of any emergency equipment.

Defibrillator & AED Training

In this topic, we will ensure that you can use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) defibrillator and carry out effective chest compressions correctly in the instance of cardiac arrest
