Our half-day course, approved by the NEBDN, is a comprehensive guide to fluoride application. It is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply fluoride varnish under the prescription of a dentist.

The course is structured to provide a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. You will be handed a Practical Experience Portfolio (PEP) to log your activities, which should include a range of supervised activities and experiences with different clients.

Upon completion of the course and the successful assessment of your PEP, you will be awarded the Certification in Fluoride Application. This certification not only enhances your dental portfolio but also makes you eligible for verifiable CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses.

• After participating in our Certification in Flouride Application course, we will ensure that our Dentists are able to communicate effectively to patients and be able to manage them efficiently. 

  Students will need to bear the right knowledge and be able to use all the equipment, safely and effectively. 

  Our course will also cover the principles of oral health education, as well as promotion, and even the history and uses of fluoride. This course also includes clinical evidence to support the use of fluoride varnish and will go through how fluoride prevents decay itself. 

  The course also covers dental anatomy in health and disease, along with going over the facts and concerns about fluoride toxicity, and fluoride use and application in general.

Providing you are a registered and qualified dental nurse, therapist, hygienist, or orthodontic therapist, you are only a few steps away from learning all about preparing and applying fluoride, including any necessary aftercare, in just a half a day course. All we require from you is confirmation that you currently hold a GDC (General Dental Council) Certificate, We also require all of our students who take this course to currently be employed as a Dental Nurse. Finally, we ask that you have support from a suitably qualified, registered dental professional.

Our Course aims to educate and provide students with a number of different skills and experiences that will benefit them greatly in the dental industry. 

We expect our students to be able to know and understand the required qualifications necessary to be able to perform a dental impression. Our students are required to understand how to receive consent from their clients and recognize why this is important before participating in any dental procedures. 

Understanding the significance of updating a patient’s record is also extremely important, so therefore we expect our students to be able to read and keep track of data efficiently. In addition to this understanding, all the health and safety regulations behind the dental practice are extremely important. 

We expect our students to be able to recognize these regulations and put them into work while performing different practices. A massive part of the dental practice comes through communication with clients, we find it very important that our customers can communicate effectively with clients and cater to their expectations.

There is a much more technical objective present throughout the course as well, we will ensure that all learners can understand why teeth deteriorate and the reasons behind it. We also require our students to be able to understand the pros and cons of the program itself in order to prove a better knowledge of the course’s content. 

We like our dentists to be able to evidence when fluoride application is necessary, whilst also proving that they can confidently, partake in the fluoride application process, including the preparation involved before the initial application. 

Students must be able to follow health and safety regulations and eliminate any possibility of cross-infection. Finally, once the application has been applied, our dentists will need to understand the aftercare process, relevantly and accurately.
